For the future. Yours included.

What does it mean to build your future at PIC?

Building a career at PIC means working with a clear sense of purpose, alongside colleagues who support and challenge one another, while developing your skills through real responsibility and seeing how your contribution connects to something bigger.

PIC’s purpose is simple: to pay the pensions of our current and future policyholders.

These films introduce how our people help make that happen, and how they are building their own futures here too.

Shreya's story - Supporting the people behind the purpose

Shreya is a Senior HR Operations Manager whose team supports colleagues throughout every stage of their careers at PIC.

From onboarding and development to benefits, wellbeing and career progression, her role is about helping people do their best work.

As she explains:

"Our role is to look after employees so that our employees can look after our policyholders."

Her story shows how supporting colleagues is an important part of delivering for policyholders and building a strong business for the future.

Russell's story - Improving systems and ways of working

Russell is an IT Product Owner who works across the business to improve systems, workflows and processes.

His role helps colleagues work more effectively, whether by streamlining processes, improving technology or finding better ways of working.

Although he works in technology, he says PIC's purpose is never far away. Every improvement helps colleagues deliver for policyholders more effectively.

Russell’s work has evolved beyond his immediate role responsibilities giving him the opportunity to  build relationships across the business and help shape both his role and his future.

Eugenia's story - Investing for policyholders over the long term

Eugenia is a Head of Public Finance in PIC's Investments team. She helps source and structure the long-term investments that support future pension payments.

Every transaction she works on contributes to the same goal: ensuring PIC can continue paying pensions decades into the future.

For Eugenia, that means combining commercial thinking, technical expertise and long-term responsibility in a role where the impact of decisions can be seen for years to come. As she puts it: "Ultimately, we invest to pay our policyholders' pensions."

Clare's story - Supporting colleagues and delivering for policyholders

Clare works in Pensions Operations, where people development, professional qualifications and learning opportunities are central to her role.

She also helps bring PIC's purpose to life through policyholder events, where colleagues meet the people whose pensions PIC pays. For Clare, the work is about supporting both colleagues and policyholders: helping people develop while continuing to deliver a high-quality service.

Her story shows how colleague development and policyholder service are closely connected at PIC.

Rowan's story - Developing technical expertise in Asset Liability Management

Rowan is a Quant Strategist in our Asset Liability Management team. His work involves using code, algorithms and problem-solving to help PIC invest in assets that secure the pensions we pay.

He joined PIC because he wanted to work on complex technical challenges alongside a close-knit team. Since then, he has found opportunities to deepen his expertise, take on broader responsibilities and shape his career around his strengths,  while staying connected to a clear purpose.

Rowan’s experience reflects the way careers can develop at PIC as people build specialist knowledge, contribute to important work and grow with the business.
