Retired as the Chief Executive Officer of Swiss
Reinsurance Company of Zurich in December 2005, following 33
years at the world's leading reinsurance company.
John served as a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Re from 1995 with management
responsibility for the Group’s Life & Health division. He was Swiss Re’s (UK) appointed
actuary from 1983 to 1990, having first qualified as an actuary in 1974.
Mr Coomber also serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of
Euler Hermes and as a Trustee of The Climate Group.
