Policyholder Forum

We at Pension Insurance Corporation pride ourselves on our customer service. Prior to a pension insurance transaction, this means tailoring solutions to help the trustees and sponsors of defined benefit pension funds secure their members’ benefits. Once this goal has been achieved, we are proud to offer the former pension scheme members – our policyholders – a continued high level of customer service.

As of June 2011, this customer service includes PIC’s Policyholder Forums; a service that we believe to be unique to the policyholders of Pension Insurance Corporation.

These events, which are entirely free for our policyholders, allow them to meet and question senior management and staff from PIC about the company and pension related issues.

The Forums are held around the country to ensure that a wide cross-section of our policyholders are able to attend.

The cornerstones of the Forums are talks by PIC’s CFO, on the security of policyholder pensions, and our Chief Administration Officer on how we try and ensure we continue to provide the best customer service. We typically have a range of other speakers, including those from the Citizens Advice Bureau and Age UK. For many however, the highlights of the events have been the star speakers: Monty Don, of Gardeners' World, and actor and adventurer Brian Blessed.

In addition, we invite a number of local associations and charities to exhibit, including Macmillan, the Ramblers, the Royal British Legion, Age UK and the Citizens Advice Bureau. They offer free advice and have been able to engage with our policyholders in very positive ways; in some cases the charities we have introduced have been able to provide ongoing support to the policyholder or a family member.

We plan to hold many more such events in different parts of the country, helping to create and sustain a strong bond with our policyholders.
