Corporate Social Responsibility
Pension Corporation recognises that commercial enterprises should demonstrate through their actions a sense of community and a responsibility to their immediate circle including customers and staff, but also to society more generally.
We believe in putting something back; an ethos stemming from the most senior of management down through the company:
- Sir Mark Weinberg, Chairman of the Board, is also founder and President of St. James's Place Wealth Management Group, which established its own charitable arm, the St. James's Place Foundation in 1992. The Foundation has funded hundreds of charities and projects making a significant difference to the lives of children and young people in the UK.
- John Coomber, CEO of Pension Insurance Corporation, is a member of the Climate Group's board of trustees and Leadership Council. The Climate Group's goal is to help government and business set the world economy on the path to a low-carbon, prosperous future.
- Edmund Truell has pledged the profit on his holding in Pension Corporation to charity. He is a strong supporter of the Help for Heroes campaign as well as being Chairman of the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
The Stewardship Code
The UK Stewardship Code has been developed by the Financial Reporting Council to set out best practice for institutional holders of equities and how such holders should monitor, engage and intervene on matters that may affect the long term value of companies and the capital invested in them.
Pension Insurance Corporation holds very few equities and is willing to engage directly where it believes it will protect and enhance shareholder value.
Our compliance with the UK Stewardship Code is explained here .
